Defect Tracking and Problem Reporting using Intranet


Abstract:

            The Defect Tracking is an intranet based web application developed to provide information regarding status of indent placed by employees of different departments. Online problem reporting application form is available that facilitates employees to place application from any computer in the intranet. The developed web application enables to track the progress of indent placed through generation of reports, which facilitates employee to know about the status of indent placed by them. Authorized person can provide the status information of placed indents online, after providing correct administrator authentication. Defect Status information provided by the system, could be accessed only by providing correct user authentication.


To facilitate online access from any computer in the intranet the new system is to be developed as an intranet based web application. The proposed system should provide problem reporting application form online, facilitating personnel to place indent from any computer in the intranet. Personnel placing the indent should be able to place, edit, update, delete and revoke the indent before it is placed. The authorized personnel should be able to provide the status information of placed indents online. Status information of indents placed should be made available to the concerned personnel online. Access to proposed system should be provided only after providing correct user authentication.
